I’m off

The time has come for me to go on my much need trip off to far away lands. I have my camera packed, plans booked and I am more than ready to go.

I shall be speaking to you all post my Cape Town adventures!

Time to dream big

The past couple of weeks have had me, on numerous occasions, questioning what it is exactly that I am trying to get out of life and where I am planning on “going” in the grander life scheme. Its possibly due to the turning of ages, similar to when a new year hits, when a birthday comes along I also take a look over the past year and try and evaluate the success of what has gone past and what I would like to do next. The problem is I have spent a lot of time recently wanting to have a big answer. What I have also had though are a number of very well timed nudges to keep telling me that its not all written in stone.

Dream Big.

Thats what keeps coming up time and time again. We are the makers of our own futures. We aren’t held back by anything other than our own fears and restrictions that we place on ourselves. So, the time has come for me to start plotting, get these big dreams into focus and start figuring out how I want to achieve them. There are so many places that I want to see, and things that I want to do. I hope to be able to get to do all of them and why ever not?

What would you do if you weren’t afraid?

Citizens – Giving me Friday feelings.

Its Friday, its my birthday weekend and now I am totally ready to escape my desk so I can go party with my friends.

Loving this Lo-fi version of True Romance by Citizens. Happiness indeed.

Have a lovely weekend!

&Smith

Further to my many other posts about how much I am longing for summer how lovely and bright is this project from London-based &Smith for LUX* resorts. I am particularly smitten with the arcade inspired tickets.

Super delicious.

Dreaming of the Summer

I think the persistent rain that has hit London over the past week has led me to sec the summer I have been dreaming of elsewhere. So I am sat here sniffling my way through a cup of tea whilst flicking through pictures of sun bleached beaches and moody skies.

Holi – Variable

The world is fascinating. People and cultures inspire us. Sadly, the fast paced lifestyles of our generation result in many not taking the necessary step back to soak in the existing world around us. Our goal with this film is to help viewers further appreciate and take notice of the beauty in life & culture that lies within our world…

…so the next time you notice something that strikes you as interesting, stop for a second, start powering on your camera, think about why it’s unique, and snap the shot before you miss it. Life is extraordinary. Embrace it.

Just happened across this video through twitter and was blown away by that opening shot. I think we should all take in the words above and start acting upon them. The world truly is fascinating. Holi is one of those occasions that makes me just want to jump on a plane and experience all the colours and excitement in person. Beautiful.

Hertz Posters – DDB NYY

I was just reading the Creative Review newsletter over lunch when I came across the new campaign by DDB New York for Hertz and just gave a little woop of joy. Harking back to the golden age of travel CR rightly point out that they look like they have come straight out of the Edward McKnight Kauffer collection. The usually brash Hertz yellow doesn’t even make me want to cry, instead it just accentuates the feel of the whole thing. I love.

Hello Friday…

Enjoy your weekend guys!

Taylor Holland – Visa Viet

Came across these photographs by Taylor Holland whilst browsing We Heart newsletter. The original post was about his pictures of the Eurobus but what caught my eye were these images. Taylor Holland has captured the people of Saigon as they go about their lives past the scenes that are printed on the sides of constructions sites. The perfection in timing is amazing so I thought I should share.

Pixie Market dreams.

All dresses from Pixie Market

So for years I have looked at all my friends who have been constantly attending weddings and felt pangs of envy because they have had the chance to go on adventures to other towns, attend hen parties and then dance the night away on the special day in a lovely new frock. Now that time has come for me. People are beginning to get married and I am thrilled but it has suddenly occurred to me that I have very little in terms of evening wear. I have become a lazy designer, my uniform pretty much daily is jeans and a t-shirt, my nights out are often saved for the pub and occasionally a birthday party at houses. So now that I am expected to attend a hen party where the venue will no doubt require a slightly more brushed up look I have been trawling the internet in hope of finding something wonderful to wear.

Pixie Market has been teasing me greatly with their selection of delicate prints, earthy tones and some totally outrageous cuts. I love it. Infact If I could just take all the above I think I’d be pretty happy. Maybe the Brunette’s hair as well. Ok I have done enough wanting now…

Project A

I am mood boarding and plotting like a crazy woman on my latest project (uncreatively labeled ‘project a’). I’ve been loading up my Pinterest with more ideas as I go along. Its been great to get my teeth into a brief from the very start and I just have ideas that I need to be constantly jotting down because I have been known to go to sleep in a creative whirlwind and then wake up with the ideas lost to dreams.

I can’t wait to share what the outcome of this is!
